Growing up, my grandparents had an appartment in Greenwich Village, so upon my arrival to New York for school I started a project that centered around the neighborhood I knew. The first of the series, seven framed collages, were made from my family’s photo albums and a 60 year old brochure for my grandparents’ building.
I then continued the project with an installation on scaffolding, photographing passerbys, through which I happened upon the phoenomenom of the archway glorifying and elevating the percieved significance of the person within.
To take the glorification further, I finished the project with a public installation piece in the park, meant to elevate the felt and percieved importance of the user.
